A large, two-handed disc sander is ideal for large areas, with the same rules as to fine-grit pads and multiple passes with finer grits. Sanding down minor scratches in corners or less-visible areas can be passed off as natural flaws in the stone, but large areas will need to have the entire floor repolished to blend everything in. Even though the scratch might be smoothed down, it will be noticeable as a blotched area. Large-scale scratches that work their way across an entryway floor, such as from a couch being dragged across the surface and etching a line across the floor, will be visible even after the sanding/polishing because it is a large area that will attract attention. ![]()
